Moresburg is the Anglo-Saxon name for the village where our head office is located. It translates to "Fortified place on the Moor". The image above is the entry within the 1086 Domesday book.
Perhaps the most famous resident is Mary Boleyn, who lived in Mosborough Hall. Whilst there she had an affair with King Henry VIII before he turned his attention to her sister, Anne.
Today, Mosborough Village is part of the City of Sheffield.
The foundation of Moresburg is deeply rooted in the history of Mosborough, a settlement with a legacy of industry and resilience that dates back centuries. Historically part of Derbyshire before being incorporated into Sheffield, Mosborough has always stood as a place of transition and connection. By adopting a name that pays homage to this heritage, we carry forward the values of craftsmanship and reliability that defined the region’s past, applying them to the modern, digital architectures we build today.
Our identity is defined by the vital link we provide between the industrial innovation of Sheffield and the financial heart of London. This connection is more than geographical; it represents the bridging of deep technical expertise with global strategic leadership. Just as the routes between the North and the Capital have historically facilitated the flow of trade and ideas, Moresburg serves as a conduit for organisations navigating the complexities of the modern economy. We bring the grounded, practical work ethic of our northern roots to the most sophisticated digital trust challenges in the City.
The journey from the historic streets of Mosborough to the forefront of international identity standards is a testament to our belief in progress through partnership. We recognise that the systems of the future must be built on the lessons of the past. By maintaining this strong sense of place and history, we provide our clients with a perspective that is both stable and forward-looking. Moresburg remains committed to fostering this unique link, ensuring that the spirit of innovation thriving in Sheffield continues to influence and secure the global digital landscape.
